Basil Sage Pesto

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup basil leaves, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 1/2 cup sage leaves, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 5 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 – 3/4 teaspoon  freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 – 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesean or other hard cheese, optional
