Indian Cardamom Mava Cakes

Ingredients

For the mava

  • 2 cans (14 ounce each) evaporated milk (not low fat)
  • 1 cup heavy cream

For the cakes

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup mava, at room temperature
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • Cashew halves (optional)
