Rose and Basil-Dark Chocolate Macarons

Ingredients

Rose Macaron

  • 30 grams sugar
  • 200 grams powdered sugar
  • 110 grams blanched and slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons dried  and crushed rose petals
  • 1 teaspoon dry pink food coloring, optional
  • 90 grams egg whites, at least two days old
  • More crushed rose petals, optional

Quick Dark Chocolate-Basil Buttercream

  • 1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves
